Waverly Cafe hosts the first ever Pie Eating Contest at the Wright County Fair!

On Thursday the 2008-2009 Fairest of the Fair and past royalty competed. Johannah Comee, Fairest of the Fair 2008-09 took first place and Afton Kielsa took second place.

Candiates for this years fairest of the fair also competed on Wednesday. The first place winner was Alexis Leonard and the 2nd place was Kayla Jackson.

On Wednesday fair board members and county employees competed.

Gloria Trebwasser took first for the fair board and Stan Vanderkooi took 2nd place.

Joe Haggerty, of the Wright county Sheriff's Department took first place for the county employees and Kurt Eich took 2nd place.

 Friday was open to the public.

 Benton Buyer took first place. Second place went to Nick Beise.

Saturdays competition was rained out.

All first place winners returned to compete in the championship on Sunday for $100 cash prize.

 Joe Haggerty won the championship round and generously donated his winnings to the Wright County Fairest of the Fair program.
